I just finished reading Chuck Palahniuk’s novel about a killer nursery rhyme. (Actually, I finished it few weeks ago, but haven’t gotten around to putting up a review for it…) I picked up Lullaby on my last trip to Portland at Powell’s Books (A signed copy no less!)

I discovered a great portfolio of 3D animation by Masahiro Ushiyama. The animation is amazing! The site is entirely in Japanese, but just click around to check out his work. You wll not be disappointed.
Enjoy!

Amazing. The Padres made a few good trades.
The Padres pick-up Brian Giles, an excellent power-hitting outfielder and trade Rondell White, their lone All-Star representative in 12 hours flat. This is a good thing because it brings a hometown player to San Diego (a town that loves community-oriented players) and trades away a player that wasn’t a great fit for the Padres in the first place.
The real key to these series of events is the Padres didn’t have to give up Xavier Nady, who I believe will blossom into an excellent player.
By the way, the Padres are amazingly close to (under-)achieving my pessimistic record prediction. Why do I have to be right about negative predictions?
Good riddence to Qualcomm and hello Petco Park!
My current gaming addiction is EA Sports Madden 2004 for PS2. The best console football game ever made just keeps getting better! I love the ability to switch personel packages, direct your blockers, and (of course) online play.

“Bookmarklets” (also called “Favelets”) are quickie Javascripts that can do industrious little tasks. For example, you can use this Resize Window Bookmarklet to resize your browser window. If you are using a Mozilla-based browser (Netscape, etc.), go ahead and click that link. It also might work on IE. Neat, huh? (Simply drag that link to your toolbar and you can use it on any web page.)
Here are a few pages that feature cool CSS bookmarklets and general information about bookmarklets:

Congratulations to Jill for becoming a Weight Watchers Lifetime Member! I am so proud of her!
She has learned so much in the last few years, and has taught me a lot about diet and nutrition. I admire her perseverence and am very impressed by her determination.
Good job, honey!
As Jill and I were driving around Beaverton, commenting about “apartment communities”, I mentioned that it would be funny if there were apartments built above Fred Meyer. She replied:
Yeah, you could have One Stop Shopping and One Stop Living!
