I’m really sick of the new Hummer commercial.
I mean, its a clever clip. The Big Race has catchy music and the art direction is excellent. But after watching the spot a hundred times, the underlying subliminal message of the commercial is really starting to bug me.
So let me get this straight: If you own a Hummer, you can cheat, you don’t have to follow rules, you intimidate others on the road and you should do whatever it takes to win. Does that about cover it? :)
I guess you can see the ad in one of two ways: 1) The Hummer kid is a hero who symbolizes perseverance and motivation. He faces adversity and defeats it by believing in himself and overcoming all odds… **or** 2) The Hummer kid is a snotty little brat that doesn’t care about rules and resorts to brute force to win at all costs (not caring about the environment either, I might add…).
Ok, so maybe I’m taking the ad a little too seriously. :P
The Chargers look awful this year. The front office made all the right moves: They picked up the star wide receiver they needed, let go aging players, and signed key players to improve the offense. So how do the Chargers start? 0-2.
*sigh*
This has the look of a long year. I am hopeful that things will turn around, and the Chargers end up winning at least 6 this year.

**Andersen Corporation** today filed a lawsuit claiming that **Microsoft** \Windows\ is an infringement of copyright laws. Andersen is upset that Microsft has used the term \Windows\ for their computer operating system for years and have not compensated them for the use of the word \Windows\.

I guess Tom got tired of everyone asking him when he was going to post images from his vacations up on the web.

The ESPN Fantasy Football League draft was held Saturday. Last year I barely missed the playoffs \(allowing the Droideka Destroyers to squeak in to the playoffs and defeat the Broomstick Hazing in the Championship Game. Good job, Tom!)\, but I kicked butt in the consolation rounds to earn the **consolation** title, which in turn awarded me first pick in the draft. Woohoo!
