Manhunt
When I heard that Rockstar North (makers of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City) released a new game for PS2, I had to check it out.
I have mixed feelings about Manhunt.

I think it is fashionable to not like the Matrix these days. Everywhere I look, the New York Times, NPR, DVC classmates, etc. are ripping the movie calling it “cheesey”, “stupid” or “confusing.” \*sigh*\ Hmmm… Could it be that viewers are upset because they are challenged to actually \think\ philosophically about the story?
Jill and I just saw \Old School\ on DVD. (Will Ferrell is hillarious!) It was alright. If you feel like watching a fairly mindless movie, see it.
Watching the movie, I noticed odd references to \Fight Club\:
Anyway, I checked IMDb and sure enough, the director **indeed** made references to \Fight Club\. Nice!
While I’m thinking about it, I also noticed uncanny similarilties between \Fight Club\ and the lyrics of some songs from the 1998 Curve album Come Clean. Particularly \Dirty High\ and \Beyond Reach\. I know, I know. It is a bit of a reach…
After watching some of the advance previews of 24 (Season 3) on TiVo, I was a little worried that the newest season would be a bit of a let down. Huh? Jack is a heroin addict, Kim now works for CTU, Jack now has a new “young gun” partner Chase (who is dating Kim, by the way) and Tony and Michelle are now married? Whoa. A lot has happened in three years. The show is sort of sounding like \ER\ or a daytime soap…
But, the good news is that the writers are switching gears a bit and seem to be moving away from the “over-the-top” scenarios and keeping things interesting by developing characters and relationships in the show.
Two episodes in, things are very interesting, and you can’t help but wonder what the writers have up their sleeves for the remainder of the season.
