24 is a great show. The production is great, the acting is good, and the story is plausable enough to keep it watchable (unlike other shows like Alias). But what really irritates me about the show this season is Chase Edmunds.

So a few weeks ago, Jill and I pull out the handy-dandy little Contra Costa Entertainment Book and look for a Mexican restaurant in Concord. After driving around for like an hour (everything was closed!), we finally found a place and had a decent dinner. Afterwards, we thought: “Hey! What an epic ending to an epic saga.
At the conclusion of the film, I felt exhausted and spent. “Whew! It’s over. What an amazing series of events!” I felt as if I had been in the movie myself, toiling with Frodo, Sam and Gollum, fighting along-side the armies against the Orcs, and being watched by the evil eye of Sauron. Director Peter Jackson hasn’t just completed a set of excellent films, but has completed an amazing cinematic experience.
Bottom line: If you enjoy adventure fantasy movies and don’t mind spending 3 and a half hours in a theater, go see this movie. (I recommend catching a matineé after lunch.) Then settle in your seat and soak in the amazing story-telling experience.
