Developing with Web Standards

Over the last year and a half, I’ve immersed myself in the world of web standards, X/HTML and CSS. Last week, I found an awesome document that clearly summarizes web standards and gives excellent recommendations.

If you are experienced in making web sites or want to create web pages, this article is a must-read!

Developing With Web Standards by Roger Johansson

Enjoy!

A Third of A Century

Today is my birthday! Woo-hoo!

Thanks to:

  • John and Michelle for taking me and Jill to P.F. Chang’s (where our waiter joked; “…the food is mediocre and the service is downright embarassing…”)
  • Mom and Dad for the awesome card and Animatrix
  • Tom and Tim for the The Kids in the Hall - Complete Season 1 DVD
  • Jill for the cranberry orange bread and latte machiatto from Peet’s
  • Aunt Luli for the great eCard

Thanks everybody!

Lemonade with My Co-co-co

my cocoI’m totally digging the Stellastarr* album. Talk about an ’80s revival…

Stellastarr\* reminds me of a “Joy Division - The Cure - Violent Femmes - with - a - touch - of - Ric Ocasek” cocktail. Think Peter Hook-ish bass lines, classic Cure riffs, sing-songy Femme melodies, and quirky vocals. If you can imagine what this might sound like, you’ll have an idea of what Stellastarr\* is all about.

The thriving My Coco is the classic track on this album. (It was the song that made my buy the album.) Homeland is a great start-stop song with a catchy chorus, and Somewhere Across Forever has “single” written all over it. All the songs on the album are dripping with 80’s influence, yet Stellastarr* still manage to make the sound their own.
